I received a full-time teaching position in Northern Alberta, after I graduated from the B.Ed. program in 2015! I teach in a small rural community named Anzac, where we have two schools that combined have a population of roughly 200 students. This is currently my sixth year teaching in Anzac, and I teach grades 6-12 PE, Biology 20, and Chemistry 20! I coach volleyball, basketball, and track and field, which keeps me very busy!
Aside from teaching, this is my third year as the Athletic Director, which has been a fun and exciting role! I started the UVic M.Ed Coaching Studies program at UVic in July 2019, and I will be completing my research project for it by the spring, 2021. I am so grateful for having taken this program, and I am so sad that it is almost over! It was absolutely amazing and nostalgic to be back at UVic, and especially having Sandy as a professor again and many other professors from our undergrad! This program introduced me to like-minded coaches from across Canada, and I was able to grow so much as a coach with all of my valuable knowledge I learned in the courses, through my research project, and in my coaching co-op. I would highly recommend this M.Ed Coaching Studies program to any coaches out there, especially if you graduated in the EPHE program at UVic! It has been an amazing experience!
I will always cherish the amazing and fun memories I made throughout my years in the EPHE program at UVic, with the best group of PE teachers and professors out there! Thank you to Sandy for all of your continued support both in my undergrad, and M.Ed. program! I wouldn’t have been able to do either without you!
