After graduating, Sandy and I headed up to Prince George. She had already acquired a physiotherapy job, and I applied to some Ld’s, and somehow ended up teaching K-7 Music/PE and LA at an elementary school. It was an interesting time, and even after a full year the K’s still struggled to line up without fighting one another. At the very least, I’m told I ran a pretty slick Christmas concert. The following year we ended up buying a house, and raising a corgi puppy over the summer. I then was given a dog’s breakfast at Prince George Secondary School, consisting of: English 9 & 10, Foods 10, Math 8 (which was P4…all year…), and 2 SS 9’s. Oh, and I had a student teacher after getting my formal observation done in the first semester. Needless to say, it kept me on my toes.

The following year was supposed to open up continuing contacts, but they were delayed another year. That’s ok, because we got to travel to Japan over Spring Break, which was an amazing experience. Over the summer I built a porch in our backyard with a custom firepit, and so far, nobody’s died. I stayed at PGSS this year and taught a new mixed bag of Leadership 10-12, Science 8, PE 9 Girls, LA, English 9, and Careers 10. This year, interviews just wrapped up, and I was hired on a continuing contract of PE, SS, and Careers. Oh, and in April, we had a small addition to our family: our daughter, Rin.
