I work as a full time counselor/teacher at Similkameen Elementary Secondary School in Keremeos, BC. Our school has 300 students making it a very tight knit group with potential for amazing successes and some growing pains. My assignment consists of two blocks of PE and two blocks of counseling. I see up to 6 students a day in my counseling blocks and work with them on issues surrounding drugs and alcohol, promiscuity, academic concerns, anxiety/depression and much more. The connections you make with students is the biggest part to providing a positive learning environment and job satisfaction! Update 2017: I am currently a counselor at Princess Margaret Secondary in Penticton.
