When I am not on an adventure within our beautiful province or somewhere around the world, I am blessed with the opportunity to be employed by the Surrey School District. I was hired very soon after my UVic practicum ended and since then have taught various courses ranging from PE to Social Studies to Entrepreneurship. I have coached teams in a range of sports. Throughout these years I was a guest speaker for various post-secondary courses and sponsored several practicum students. Teaching has afforded me time to volunteer during the summer at a paediatric oncology camp., a highlight each year. After I completed a Masters Degree in Education Technology and a Diploma in Professional Counselling I started to work with students as a career facilitator. This job continues to fulfill many of my ultimate career goals because I utilize counselling skills and my passion to teach youth with greater flexibility in working outside the standard classroom. Lifelong learning lends to great anticipation of my future as it continues to unfold.
