After graduation in 2015, I returned to Calgary and accepted a TOC position with the Calgary School Board. I focused on gaining experience in a variety of grades and subjects and finally found my passion for teaching at the Primary and Elementary level. Last September I was fortunate enough to be hired full time at Rundle College Elementary, a private school in Calgary. I was a part of a new pilot position in which I was the in-house substitute teacher while supporting a variety of extracurricular programs. Thanks to this role I have officially landed a permanent position as a grade 6 teacher. Luckily teaching physical education is still a part of my day as I am fortunate to teach two blocks a day and continue to participate in coaching and leading a variety of sports and programs at the school such as soccer, volleyball, intramurals, outdoor education and STEAM.
I am married to the mountains and spend all my free time hiking, camping and enjoying the amazing outdoor activities Calgary has to provide. I dearly miss the 2015 graduating class and the amazing times we had together. I hope to see you all soon and wish you the best in your careers as you are all truly amazing teachers!
