Since graduating from UVic PE in 2006, I have moved back to Campbell River where I am raising two boys with my wife Sheila, finished a master degree in educational leadership, and most recently had the Minister of Education visit my classroom. My first teaching position was at Phoenix Middle School teaching math, science, and physical education.
Recently I transferred to Carihi Secondary where I have developed a grade 11/12 forestry program using 21st century learning strategies. This course is one of only four in the province and is not only receiving recognition in the education world, but many large forestry companies are realizing the importance of a program like this that builds employable skills and offers career opportunities in the forest sector.
