I was hired as a TTOC in the Greater Victoria School District after completing my final teaching practicum at Mount Douglas Secondary School in May 2018.  Throughout May and June I subbed almost every day; in fact, my Social Studies mentor teacher had plenty of remedy time to use, and so he asked me if I wanted to continue teaching my Social Studies 11 class until the end of the year. It was such an honor to work with these students for the entire semester.

After travelling to 15 counties throughout Europe this past summer, I returned eager to continue working as a TTOC in School District #61, where I focused on gaining more experience in a variety of grades and subject areas.  At the same time, I was happy to be coaching Jr. Girls Basketball at Lambrick Park Secondary.  Recently, I was fortunate to secure a position at Lambrick Park Secondary working as a Softball Coordinator with the Lambrick Park High School Academy Diamond for Excellence. I am ecstatic that I can continue to teach and share my knowledge and passion for my favorite sport with the next generation of ball players. Because of this specific program, I am hoping to continue to stay at Lambrick for many years to come.

So far, the best part of teaching is the daily variety and relationship building; each day is action-packed and there is never a boring moment. I always leave work with at least one exciting, funny, or interesting story to tell.  Ultimately, I cannot wait to continue this beautiful and rewarding journey that is a career in education. Next step — a Masters in Coaching Studies.  All the best to my former teachers and fellow PE grads.
