Happy new year, happy family day and happy valentines day! Early graduation brought me back to Quesnel in April for a record breakingly quiet fire season in BC. I wish I could say the same for our neighbours to the south. I was helping out with what was left of the Oregon fires in September, chopped a ton of firewood for my parents during quarantine in October, and moved down to the lower mainland in November. I’ve been subbing a lot of Elementary French Immersion classes in North Vancouver which has been challenging but hilarious- the other day a Kindergarten student asked me “are you a dad or a teenager?”, as if there were nothing in between. I was recently taken on at Seycove Secondary for Quarter 3 and will be teaching Core French 11 until fire season starts again in May.
