While attending the University of Victoria (UVIC) I completed my Bachelor of Education where I majored in Physical Education, completing my education degree in 2003. From there I taught overseas teaching English as a second language in a public school before returning to Canada in 2006 where I began working as a teacher at an alternative high school supporting students with low incidence and high incidence designations.

I have worked in education in a variety of roles including: learning assistance teacher, resource teacher, District English Language Learner (ELL) English as a Second language/English as a Second Dialect teacher, Vice-Principal of A.D. Rundle Middle school, and served as an Acting Vice-Principal of the Chilliwack Summer Learning growing the program from 173 students to 600. In addition, I have served as a district coordinator for Low Incidence and Gifted Education. I’m a lifelong learner and in addition to my Bachelor of Education, I hold a Masters in Educational Leadership with a focus on supporting the at-risk learner in alternate education, a Graduate Diploma in Inclusive Education, and have completed half of the coursework and hours to become a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA). In 2017/2018 I had the opportunity to collaborate with a group of educators on the Inclusive Education Policy Manual Team with the B.C. Ministry of Education. Currently I am the Vice-Principal at Clayburn Middle School in Abbotsford. Most importantly I am a husband, and father of twins. Collaboration, inquiry, reflection, shared decision making, and seeking out opportunities for students are areas of interest. In my free time I enjoy exercising, and gardening.
