Graduating from the U Vic EPHE brought career-reality to a place I thought only dreams would take me. Four days after finishing my final practicum, I received a call from School District 61 asking me to come in for an interview – one week later I was officially a teacher in Victoria. Along with becoming a teacher, coaching allowed me to become an active part of the school community. During my practicum, I coached the Sr. Girls soccer team, and in my second year was asked back to coach the Boy’s team as well. I look forward to an illustrious career here in Victoria and have many people to thank from U Vic. The skills I learned both directly and indirectly from my time at U Vic have shaped who I have become, and I encourage others to take full advantage of the opportunities that are around them. 2018 Update: I am teaching at Vic High.
