Since graduating in 2013, I moved to the lower mainland and have been working as a swim coach in Surrey. I wanted to take some time before teaching to explore other avenues so when I began teaching, I would know that I made an informed decision. After 2 years of coaching swimming and working with all ages of kids, I’m excited to be looking forward to getting on a TOC list in September and getting back in the classroom. I never pictured myself living in a city or working with elementary aged kids but am happy to have exposed myself to both those things. It turns out I’m not just a high school teacher, but can’t get enough of middle school aged kids. In this picture, I’m in New York (that’s right, I fit some travel in too!) right after a run and am hanging out with my favourite kid in the world, my niece, Sloan. As for January 2016, I started TOCing in the Sunshine Coast District, and recently took on teaching a grade 6 class!!
