After graduating UVic in 2004, and one year in Saanich, my wife Michelle and I moved to Vernon to raise our family. We have 7-year-old and 5-year-old boys. I worked 9 years with Vernon School District teaching everything from grade 2-12. I loved my work with each group and found the challenge each new year brought enjoyable. No matter what age, grade, or diversified classroom I taught my experiences from UVic PE always came in to play for the activities we always participated in daily. However, I decided to start my own private academic and outdoor program in Vernon. 2014 is our first year, and we are full! The enjoyment of being able to teach my own sons in the outdoors and with a physical activity focus is right up my alley. The joys of running a business and providing a positive learning environment has seen an increase in grey hairs. I wish all past and future grads of UVic PE program much success.
