Each fall, the AWC matches interested AWC members who are new to UVic with an AWC buddy familiar with the university and the surrounding community.   The buddy system is intended to provide women new to campus with a welcoming friend who can provide information about UVic and community resources.  Buddies come from different units on campus, thus helping to build cross-departmental ties and to encourage broad university connections.  The pairings usually are made by the AWC Chair.
