Digital Revitalization of Toopkhaneh Square, Tehran, Iran

This project focuses on the historical study and architectural analysis of Toopkhaneh Square, exploring how the space has evolved over time and how its function has shifted in relation to the surrounding urban fabric of Tehran. The aim was to propose a revitalization plan grounded in the square’s historical and architectural significance. While the intention was not to reconstruct the Qajar-era square exactly, the original physical features of the complex were carefully considered.

As a once-prominent urban space that witnessed key historical events from the Qajar period to the present, Toopkhaneh today retains little of its former identity. The proposed plan therefore looks beyond physical restoration, envisioning how the square might once again become a vibrant and meaningful public space.
