1. Appointment of minute taker: Sheryl Karras<\/p>\n

4. Urgent Business or to be otherwise assigned:<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 41 Discussion of the Employment Systems Review Final Report\u00a0 –\u00a0 The PEA will provide a response to the final report.\u00a0 The findings in the report were thorough and we strongly support the recommendations.<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 42 Education Conference Jan 31\/Feb 1 \u2013 representatives from CUPE and the Faculty Association have been invited to the conference.<\/p>\n
5. Chair’s correspondence and remarks:<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 51\u00a0 Correspondence from Office of the University Secretary regarding Board of Governors election<\/p>\n
In keeping with Section 23(1)(g) of the University Act, the following persons are NOT eligible to be nominated to serve on the Board:<\/p>\n
A person who is an employee of the university AND who is a voting member of the executive body of, or an officer of, an academic or non-academic staff association of the university who has the responsibility, or joint responsibility with others to<\/p>\n
i)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>negotiate with the board, on behalf of the academic or non-academic staff association of that university, the terms and conditions of service of members of that association, or<\/p>\n ii)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>adjudicate disputes regarding members of the academic or non-academic staff association of that university.<\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Chair has replied to this correspondence<\/p>\n 6. Reports FAST account balance: $5703.88, there are two outstanding bills which will bring the balance to $4325.70 for January.\u00a0 The Coast Capital account balance as of 31 Dec 2013: $1357.78, this\u00a0 does not include the recently received refund cheque from the Association for two room rentals in November for our AGM and pre-Bargaining meeting ($304.50).<\/p>\n
