41 Ernie Gorrie is the Labour Relations Officer for the PEA from April until the beginning of July 2007 while Tony Bute takes over as Acting Director for the PEA.<\/p>\n
\n
42 USource \u2013 PEA Group has been established. Any PEA member may join this group.<\/p>\n
\n
43 Smoking on Campus \u2013 Concerns were raised regarding the proximity of ash trays to air intake vents. In particular, concerns have been raised about the CLE building and smoke being drawn into work spaces by the air intake vents as well as from smokers standing close to windows. These issues have been taken to the Smoking Task Force as well as to Occupational Health and Safety.<\/p>\n

44 Chapter Executive Meeting \u2013 The Executive will meet in May and June before and after the PEA Convention.<\/p>\n
\n
45 PEA Pond Party \u2013 The date and time for the PEA Pond Party was set for June 19th<\/sup><\/span> 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with a back-up date of June 26th<\/sup><\/span>. Vincent Connor will book the event with the University Club as well as order the food and drink tickets (one per attending member). John Foxgord will organize the music for the event.<\/p>\n \n 46 PEA Convention \u2013 25 and 26 May<\/p>\n \n 5. Chair’s Correspondence<\/p>\n \n 51\u00a0 A wide range of correspondence including the first Le,Nonet report, Multiplicity – a bi-annual report from the Diversity Advisor, BOG minutes and the UVic Strategic Plan were circulated by the Chair.<\/p>\n \n 6. Reports<\/p>\n \n 61 Treasurer (Connor)<\/p>\n \n The application for the annual chapter grant has been submitted to the PEA Central Office. There is a balance of approximately $1400 in the FAST account, and $622.97 in the Coast Capital account.<\/p>\n \n 62 Local Relations Officer (Bute\/Gorrie)<\/p>\n \n Ernie Gorrie is now handling the servicing for the UVic PEA Chapter.<\/p>\n \n 63 Chapter Committees<\/p>\n \n 631 Local Representatives (Gore) NTR.<\/p>\n \n 632 Seminars (Karras) The committee continues to meet monthly to plan upcoming seminars<\/p>\n \n 64 Joint Committees<\/p>\n \n 641 Association\/University Committee NTR<\/p>\n \n 642 Benefits Committee (Thornton) A proposal to address sick leave and LTD is being considered.<\/p>\n \n 643 Job Evaluation Committee (Bute)<\/p>\n \n 644 Employment Equity & Human Rights Working Group (Abbott) NTR Next meeting – week of April 23rd<\/p>\n \n 645 Educational Equity & Human Rights Working Group (Karras) NTR<\/p>\n \n 646 Mental Health Committee (Connor) \u2013 To support the growing need to accommodate employees with mental health issues a manual \u2018Being There\u2019 has been ordered. Next meeting \u2013 week of April 23rd<\/sup><\/span><\/p>\n \n 647 Campus Planning Committee (Gore) – NTR<\/p>\n \n 65 External Committees<\/p>\n \n 651 Association Executive (Bute) The Association Executive met on April 10, 2007 in Vancouver. Discussion included the PEA Convention<\/p>\n \n 652 Organizing Committee (McGhee) Advertising efforts to generate interest in PEA representation have resulted in inquiries.<\/p>\n \n 7.
