31 Motion to Approve Minutes for 13 December 2017 (DS) (tabled until next month, pending review)

4. Labour Relations Officer (Montgomery):

• Upcoming meetings: Jan 18^th special AU/LOU 8 re: paid sick leave; regular AU Jan 31^st; Jan 29th Job Evaluation Appeals; spring local reps March 27th
• Updates for ongoing grievances: (1) facilitating transaction of the hardship grant; still awaiting employer counter proposal on sick leave grievance; (2) other grievance has been pushed back to May 2018 for the arbitrator’s schedule (termination of probationary employee)
• Harassment grievances: two that went to external investigation (TBD)
• Discussion re: events/meetings to schedule this term (include in email reminders): Professional development deadline reminder, spring seminar (topic TBD), world café (April), PEA Education Conference (deadline Jan 22nd to apply), spring collective agreement session (February 21 re: CTO, flex schedule, holiday closure), plus APSA/APS with UBC and SFU get together

721 Local Representatives (Cave/Connor): MSC (MC/MD) to appoint Samantha Etzel as First Peoples House Local Representative

722 Seminars (Ficke):  Feb 21st for Collective Agreement (flex, CTO, holiday closure); invite ICAT for a lunch time seminar (Sheryl and Kristen to connect over this)

723 Appointments (Doyle): website up to date with local reps and committee members, except for Elections Committee, which will get updated today

724 Website (Clausen/van Hoek): website updates are in progress

731 Association/University Committee (Karras/Sanderson):  next meeting 18 Jan re: sick leave (special topic); Jan 31 regular meeting (Agenda Topics: ME list, grant funded positions list, telecommuting discussion, job evaluations, new mat-leave procedures)

732 Benefits Committee (Doyle/Granot): Email update went out Dec 22nd re: increase from 2.05% to 2.35% contribution to LTD. Next meeting is in June.
