1. Motion to approve the agenda:

3. Labour Relations Officer (Montgomery):
   1. Report submitted via slack
   2. Filed grievance on salary placement issue; waiting to hear back from the employer
   3. Concern about members getting their LTD claims denied;
      • Action Item: Sam will raise at upcoming continuing benefits meeting on June 8th
4. Association Executive (Karras/Chan/Haman): 30 April meeting

PEA Investment Report update – PEA portfolio -8.39% compared to the average Canadian pension plan return of -8.7% in Q1 2020

5. Current Business or otherwise to be assigned:

• Newsletter feedback and ideas for next issue’s profile
  • 42% of UVic members opened it
  • Action Item: Jordana/Sam will check in with Kim Curry and Adrienne White (local reps and senior lab instructors)
• Draft teleworking survey (Katy, Telka & Jordana)
  • Change to “remote working” survey
  • Goal is to send out by end of May
• New Employee seminar – tentative schedule 4 June 12:00-1:00 (Jordana)
  • Action Item: Jordana will invite all new members from the past year
• Sam and Sheryl meeting weekly with Steve G. from 8 May
  • Inviting PEA members to participate in “U Watch” program
  • Anticipating University budget in June; the employer approaching us with “creative solutions” to deal with COVID-related budget shortfalls
  • Meanwhile, market disparities and recruitment/retention challenges persist; unclear how much SIA money will be used in July
  • Action Item: Jordana will send out another member-wide email about market adjustment and central pro-D deadlines
• 2021 Provincial Budget Consultation
  • PEA has requested lobbying sessions for the 2021 Provincial budget; would like to make a submission on behalf of post-secondary funding
  • Action Item: Sam will circulate last-year’s submission for legal aid funding and request ideas from Chapter Exec by end of June
