PEA UVic Chapter Executive Meeting – Wednesday January 8, 2020 – 12:00pm-1:30pm, Career Services Boardroom

Attendance: Sheryl Karras, Adam Gaudes, Kristen Ficke, Telka Duxbury, Cliff Haman, Katy Chan, Ori Granot

Meeting called to order at 12:08pm

2. Approve minutes

21 November meeting minutes. Moved: Cliff, Seconded: Katy. Approved.

3. Labour Relations Officer (Montgomery):

- PEA Announcements
  - Bargained and ratified UWU collective agreement
  - Ongoing bargaining at FMA and LSS
  - Sending 3 UVic members to CLC Winter School
  - Next Local Rep training Feb. 24^th and 25^th
  - Education Conference on May 1 and 2
    1. Theme: Human Rights in Professional Settings
- Old Business
  - Ongoing Recruitment and Retention Issues at UVic and draft campaign plan
    1. Proposal: schedule a Job Evaluation workshop for March and plan a mass Job Evaluation submission
- Long-service vacation calculations
  - After many productive discussions, compromise with employer reached and updated calculations sent out to 100+ members

- New Business
  - Discussed status of 4 member grievances
  - Discussed plan for meeting with VPFO on Jan. 13^th
    1. Proposal: Request a meeting with the Provost and Minister of Education
