Dear PEA Colleagues,
Last month you received an email requesting your input on the opportunities, challenges and issues facing our university over the next five to ten years, and the qualifications and experience the Presidential Search Committee should seek in candidates for the presidency.
I would urge and encourage PEA members to take this opportunity to provide input to the committee. Please convey your input to pressrch@uvic.ca .
We do not have a direct PEA voice on the search committee and, unless we take this opportunity to share the challenges and concerns that we face as staff members, we can not expect the committee to know or understand, nor seek a leader who can better address and shift the university and its priorities to creating a better environment for our PEA members.
This institution relies on the professionalism, creativity, innovation and commitment of our PEA colleagues across campus and we need a senior leadership that recognizes and is committed to supporting our PEA members across campus.
Please take this opportunity to provide your input – your voice does matter!
