Present: Sheryl Karras, Samantha Montgomery, Melissa Doyle, Kristen Ficke, Ori Granot, Chris Clausen, Dave Sanderson, Katy Chan, Mike Cave
- Appointment of minute taker: Sanderson.
- Motion to approve the agenda: Motion (Chan) Seconded (Doyle).
- Approve minutes: May minutes deferred to a web vote once circulated. August minutes not yet submitted for review.
- Labour Relations Officer (Montgomery):
4.1 Discussed labour relations issues.
4.2 A joint Education seminar is in the works to discuss return to work and sick leave.
- Association Executive (Doyle/Clausen):
5.1 There is a meeting coming up on the 26th of September.
5.2 Will be performing strategic planning in November.
5.3 There was a question of interest for being involved with the BCFed committees for education.
5.4 BC Fed Union Renewal Conference—Making Work Work for Everyone—will take place Oct 26-28 in Victoria
- Current Business or otherwise to be assigned:
6.1 New Employee Orientation was on August 29th. Samantha facilitated this for 20 members.
6.2 The AGM has been booked for the Queenswood – Arbutus room on Thursday the 9th of November.
6.3 Ori would like to look into the degree of representation we have on the Pension Plan Board.

7.1 Treasurer (Sanderson)
Coast Capital: $16,499.71.
FAST: -$2,806.93
There is a $5,000 cheque that will be going into the fast account to bring it back to a positive balance and reduce our Coast Capital account.
7.2 Chapter Committees
7.2.1 Local Representatives (Cave/Connor): Booking a local reps meeting for October 25th and will be discussing Job Evaluation.
7.2.2 Seminars (Karras): There will be a Pensions seminar on the 8th of November.
7.2.3 Appointments (Doyle): Local rep vacancies – We will be sending an email to Toshi to send out a call for Local Reps.
7.2.4 Website (Clausen/van Hoek): NTR.
7.3 Joint Committees
7.3.1 Association/University Committee (Karras/Sanderson): We will be meeting on the 28th.
7.3.2 Benefits Committee (Doyle/Granot): NTR.
7.3.3 Job Evaluation Appeals Committee (Connor/Granot): Won an appeal to get members reclassified.
7.3.4 Employment Equity Advisory Group (Butler): in abeyance.
7.3.5 Educational Equity Advisory Group (Perks): in abeyance.
7.3.6 Campus Planning Committee (Karras): NTR.
7.3.7 Central ProD (Seager/Blake): need to send reminder out for September 30th deadline.
7.3.8 Safety Committee (Granot/Buchanan): NTR.
7.3.9 Parking Committee (Granot): The new licence recognition service is in place for parking passes. Does not apply to Flex Passes.
