Child Care facility – can we sit on committee – do we belong on it. Historically UVSS ran it and when handed to Uvic UVSS retained seats on the committee.

Central Pro-D – Dave Sanderson reviewed language with Eric Mayes and reviewed by members of AU. Policy will not be changed. New language used is within the existing policy.

Will set up regular meetings.

732 Benefits Committee (Doyle/Granot): met May 19th – Ori, Sam, Melissa attended. Rate changes to medical services plan of BC (MSP) – children will be free – premiums will be based on number of adults – grid changes- we will keep an eye on implementation.

LTD – PEA on LTD biggest increase this year – 50% increase from 2015 – 20 new claims in total most short term. Lots of questions re: increase – is it a trend? what are the drivers? May want info on applications vs. approvals.

Extended health and dental – dental has a surplus – no change to premiums. Health – direct pay increased claims by 18% – deficit increased to $523,000 from 218,000. July 2016 10% increase for premiums. Concerns re: health issues and increased LTD – is HR doing anything preventative?
