Update on Benchmark Group Questionnaire Process
Thanks for participating in the benchmark group questionnaire process. We appreciate the effort, good will and cooperation you have extended in assisting us with this important project.
While it is important that you provide us with good information to enable us to rate your job, we also hope you will find that the process of reviewing your work is an investment in yourself. Most of us don’t take the time to focus on the full range of our work. This process will enable you and your manager to come to a better understanding of how your position contributes to your department and to UVic.
Because some members felt the time was too short, if you have any additions or clarifications you want to make to the Questionnaire, you may submit these to the Human Resource Office as soon as possible and no later than October 25. We will ensure your supervisor receives a copy of any revisions. If you require a copy of your Questionnaire, please contact Judy Cryderman in HR at 8088 or email her. Alternatively, if you can make your revisions quickly, and it is convenient to the supervisor responsible for making comments, you may ask her/him for the original Questionnaire and make the revisions directly on the original. Please ensure you return this to the supervisor quickly so the process is not delayed.
We have asked your managers to try to get the Questionnaires back to you with their comments no later than October 31st. As soon as you receive your original Questionnaire, please add any final comments and return it to Human Resources without delay, and no later than November 3. This will greatly facilitate the Project Committee in our efforts to complete the evaluations of the benchmark positions by our target of the middle to the end of January.
For those of you who were unable to make the scheduled Questionnaire completion sessions, we have scheduled a make up session on Tuesday October 31st at 1 to 4 PM at the University Center, Room A183. At the first part of the session we will review each question to ensure that all of you have a common understanding of each factor. If you want to prepare a draft in advance, that’s ok, or, if you find it easier to take the time at the session to finish editing the examples, or revising your responses, we will be there for the full 3 hours. Don’t forget to make copy of the Questionnaire for yourself and your administrative unit.
